Performance artistique de Blanche Giraud-Beauregardt

Dans le cadre des activités du Centre Jean Monnet et de la chaire « Narratifs européens de la frontière » de droit Jean Monnet, la première édition 2023 des Castle Talks s’est tenue les 1 et 2 mars 2023.

Répartie entre la Hochschule de Kehl et le Château de Pourtalès, elle a rassemblé une soixante-dizaine de chercheurs, étudiants et entrepreneurs. Les conférences ont été nombreuses et les échanges variés : sanitaire transfrontalier, euroscepticisme, cartopologie ou encore programmes de la NASA et régionalisme catalan.

Après avoir mis en commun les expériences de la frontière et s’être restauré, le public a assisté au château de Pourtalès à une performance artistique de la comédienne Blanche Giraud-Beauregardt. Dans le cadre des activités du Centre Jean Monnet, ’artiste a interprété deux textes : la ballade du calame d’Atiq Rahimi (2015) et Crossing to Germany a Way to Make Money de Ernest Hemingway (1922).

Le premier texte, en français, porte sur la vie de l’auteur et son exil depuis son Afghanistan natal, évoquant ses tourments personnels et le difficile déracinement. Le second texte, en anglais, évoque la situation de Kehl après la Première Guerre Mondiale, où le mark a perdu toute valeur et où les français viennent nombreux pour s’y restaurer ou s’y amuser à peu de frais.

Within the activities of the Jean Monnet Center and the Chair « European Narratives of the Border » of Jean Monnet Law, the first edition of Castle Talks 2023 was held on March 1 and 2, 2023. Split between the Hochschule de Kehl and the Château de Pourtalès, it brought together seventy researchers, students and entrepreneurs. The conferences were numerous and the exchanges varied: cross-border health, Euroscepticism, cartopology or NASA programs and Catalan regionalism

After sharing the experiences of the French-German border and eating, the audience attended an artistic performance by the actress Blanche Giraud-Beauregardt at the Château de Pourtalès. As part of the activities of the Jean Monnet Center, the artist performed two texts: the Ballad of the Calamus by Atiq Rahimi (2015) and Crossing to Germany a Way to Make Money by Ernest Hemingway (1922).

The first text, in French, focuses on the author’s life and exile from his native Afghanistan, evoking his personal torments and the difficult uprooting. The second text, in English, evokes the situation of Kehl after the First World War, where the mark has lost all its value and where the French come in great numbers to eat and play at low cost.
