The Euro-Institut is a Franco-German organisation founded in 1993 and based in Kehl am Rhein (Germany). Its mission is to develop the capacities of actors and more generally to support, accompany and facilitate cross-border cooperation in the French-German-Swiss Upper Rhine region. To this end, the Euro-Institute develops tailor-made :

– in all its stages: from genesis to evaluation
– to overcome intercultural barriers
– through the bilingual organisation of cross-border meetings

– feasibility, evaluation and impact assessment
– for a bilingual publication
– accompanied by assistance in setting up recommendations
The Euro-Institute is currently carrying out two Interreg V A projects: « Coordination Office of the Science Pillar of the Upper Rhine Metropolitan Region: establishment of a platform of services and coordination of the Science Pillar of the Upper Rhine Metropolitan Region » and « TRISAN: optimising cross-border cooperation in the field of health to meet the needs of administrations and care providers ». While the actions are mainly directed at the political-administrative sector, they are also aimed at all stakeholders in the intermediate and economic sectors and in civil society, such as businesses, associations, trade unions, students, educational institutions or associations.
At the European level, the Euro-Institute has been coordinating the Transfrontier Euro-Institute Network (TEIN) since 2010, a network of 15 partners from 9 European border regions. TEIN was founded by the European Leonardo da Vinci programme (Leonardo partnership 2010-2012 and Leonardo transfer of innovation 2012-2014) and aims to strengthen the capacities of cross-border actors in Europe through the exchange of innovative practices and the production of manuals, research, modules, etc.
